ATTENTION:
SONGWRITERS,
NO-GOODS,
GLORY-SEEKERS,
& GLORIOUS TRAINWRECKS
Have you ever written a song that made someone fall in love, leave town, or question their life choices at a gas station at 2am?
Perfect. You’re exactly the problem we’re looking for.
The Carrboro Songwriters Festival crashes into October 16–18, 2026, spilling across stages, sidewalks, and unsuspecting barstools all over town—including the velvet-curtained confessional booth known as The Speakeasy Theatre.
We are summoning:
the tuneful and the tuneless,
the well-rehearsed and the barely-held-together,
the heart-on-the-sleeve types,
and the “I swear this just happened last night” liars.
Bring us your anthems, your torch songs, your unhinged masterpieces scribbled on receipts and napkins. Bring the melody that won’t leave you alone. Bring the line that scares you a little.
No polish required. Nerve preferred.
If your songs have a pulse (or at least a twitch)…
if they’ve been dragged through love, loss, cheap beer, bad decisions, and one surprisingly good chorus…
APPLY.
Carrboro is ready.
Or at least willing to risk it
